Xmas wrap up

12/23- 12/29/09

So, my mom's crashed but is being brought back to life so no internet access via the holiday in New Orleans after day one.

Thursday:

Did lunch with my uncle & his girlfriend (who I thought was a bit slow till my mom explained she is deaf.. which is why she seems to get lost in conversations)... then went to mom to an old school friend of hers holiday party.
I was so under-dressed for this Uptown Southern lady event.. but people kept commenting positively on my outfit ... I guess cause it was so different. I felt a bit "like what will I talk to these people about"... so I just complemented them back on their outfits.
... I talked briefly to high school friend know a stay at home mom for a banker in London and has three kids...

Friday: Christmas at the Wolvertons

Ate a ton and chatted with the family about if iphones are too girlie for guys, what itunes the teenagers like, a look at the Gillette Razor site and if shaving down there makes the trunk look bigger (the site is funny and suggest men shave it all off, who bears are, what are metro-sexuals, and other such deep thought subjects...

Saturday:

Went Thrift shopping with mom and saw my uncle's girlfriend's art show... she paints really well - amazing details..
......Then to a cocktail part at a cousin and his wife's new house... they run a company destroying and cleaning old building to prepare for rebuilds and such. There house was full of bit and pieces of old places they savaged during work, fixed up, and found new uses for... best was an autopsy table as a bar, a collection of doll heads, and French Quarter slate and stone lion head in the bathroom as parts of the sink...

Sunday:

Went with mom to the a Disney exhibit at the museum (very interesting ... Beauty and the Beast fairytale was so young women made to marry to old -ugly men would believe all would be good if they just loved them). Then went to get French food.
...Then back to the airport, which could of been okay BUT some Texas College football team partied it up so much in a plane I was going to fly in next... that it took over an hour & a half to clean it up... making one of my flights two hours late... i to SF at 1:30AM ... and had to work this morning cause we aren't sure where one CNA is with life stuff..
... O' and now they test shoes for explosives with some magic cloth ... I guess for shoe bombs..

Monday:

Saw 1064 and his funny cat and 964 and his funny cat... we talked about how we could be on the People's Court.

Escape SF or actually Vegas by any means nesecary

12/23/09

I LOVE SF, but I decided I need a small break for a few day and to go see my mom in New Orleans... so I been working hard for the last couple of weeks to get work and other parts of life organized well enough - I feel okay taking time away (which has been choas everytime I think I have it done)... I don't travel well - I get nervous about things undone and just general travel fears....

So, I booked through Expedia a three flight over night journey to New Oreleans, which was to begin at 8:30PM when SuperShuttle would pick me up last night..

After a long and confusing day at work .. I get home were suddenly all sorts of people out of the blue from the past in some cases call or email me (in one case dirty emails)... but I get everthing done... and go outside to wait for my shuttle.

I wait and wait.. and eventualy call SuperShuttle ... to find out that since I booked through SuperShuttle Fars (and don't do this people), who they are starting to work with but the kinks aren't all fixed yet... they don't have me on their list... the woman tells me if I go back into my apartment and email here the confirmation email - I can get my $20 back... but that doesn't help me get to the airport at that moment.. so head off to get a cab..

I flag a guy down and off to the airport we go... eventually hitting mass traffic near the airport and move at snail pace (the nice cab driver turns off the meter at one point and I tipped him well)... finally he drops me off at US Air which is what my print out says is my first airline of the night...

While trying to get the machine to print a board pass for me .. I overhear an agent talking to woman, who is on my 1st flight to Vegas... it's seems it isn't US Air we are on but United (they is a small type note operated by United on the email)... so across the airport we rush - now running abit behind.... get to United and try to help the woman (an animated older woman) use the machine... then rush to the security line and make it through just in time to caught the flight....

But due to the piolet being late - the flight actually gets delayed... so rushing wasn't that important... of course what become important is after we board and are furhter delayed .. the flight with some bad -plane shaking rough patches... gets me to Vegas just in time to miss my contecting flight....

(I meant while waiting for the flight to leave a nice japannesse family that had been flying international and dommestic by stand and been in airports for a couple days...their cute childs were running around wearing cow print clothing)

United says they will give us hotel rooms and us who booked via places like Expedia will need call the other airlines in the morning and get another flight... I'm booked on NorthWest (so the email says) and I and few refugues on Northwest try desperately to get through via phone and book a flight imdetediately ...

Flight booking is a problem do to the annoying automated system, being on hold for every listening to theit bad hold music, and that Northwest is now also Contential and Delta... and it is in doubt which group is really suppose to take care of this...

Finally, I meet Paul of Delta - the booking agent of my dreams.. who says if I'm willing to pay $50 - I can get a 6:30AM to Atlanta then another flight to New Orleans and be in by 3:40PM... I say yes, but because of some weird way it is set up - I need to call back in half and hour and give my credit card and confirm as this - but he will hold tickets for me.

It is now pass 3AM so I decide to stay in the airport... one of the other passangers, who also missed a flight on Northwest and I was standing near to see if he got and agent and any help while was on hold... he asks me if I'm going to the hotel, if I'm married, and if I'd like to hang out in his room... I polietely explain I was hanging out in the airport... then he said he had to ask and to quote said "what happens in Vegas, stays in Vega"... (hey, balding - pudgy -spooky guy... quoting commercials doesn't get you laid... of course you do have to love that he took lemons and tried to make it into casual sex...)

I spent the rest of the early morning - I sit on the floor of the Las Vegas airport - yelling at Northwest automated system "AGENT!. for the love of all that is hley agent!", trying to explain to confused agents what Paul and I talked about and my plight, and try to find quite areas of the airport that didn't have Las Vegas show commercials and "Pocker Face" balaring ...

I finally, get Paul back on the phone (yea!) and while he is fixing stuff for me - my phone dies... I finally, find a plug and and call again ... and desperately try yo explain to the new agent- everything that has happened... he replies that all is taken care of and I just need to get to a kiosh and get my boarding pass...

The next to flights were okay.. it suddenly went well...I changed clothes and freshed up in a bathroom in Atlanta's airport.. and I meant my mom, she feed me, we talked. I slept some on the couch...

Finally, I go to check my eamil... at 5AM Expedia emailed me that my last (3rd flight) I was orginally booked on that was to leave Memphis to New Orleans at 6:30Am got canceled and to contact them about changing the flight... LOL

I may get it all done..

So, I am going to flight to New Orleans tomorrow night and I keep adding things to my to do list... I hate traveling cause I feel like I am leaving something undone or forgetting something... but I think I'm getting it all done.

After the show went to a brunch/ talk about what is going on with the legal and non licensed art venue... this was a group of warehouse people folk... it was a warm fuzzy community event (cat, dog, pancakes...) and very informative...

I went to caught of Bad Movie Night - "Santa Slay" ... Santa was pissed off and killed people ... and that is sort of the plot.. it had funny moments of people yelling at Santa.

So, we had a great FCC Free Radio meeting today.. I feel like we got a lot of stuff done and it was good... then as my Xmas group to the station - I clean the studio and the bathroom (which was a mess well).

Tonight, I went to the Center for Sex and Culture to see 'Alien Sex Party' which had Q&A with the director Paul Yates, who was so cute and funny. Carol and Robert have played the movie at the their house for parties for the last fews year... so it is an Xmas tradition. About 15 people showed people, but Paul loved the event so much - he asked if he could come back next year and be a part of another Xmas screening..

.. The movie has the best fucking sound track (I got a copy of it... I'm so playing Sex for Christmas and maybe a few other songs on my radio show tomorrow), and Moby produced and do a couple of bit parts in the movie, and later sued them to take him out of the movie - cause he made a fool of myself in the movie.... maybe he was just giving them all the money for the film to just have fun... not to actually produce another that would be screened...

Paul Yates was talking about a couple upcoming project (including a zombie flick) that sound very cool... we are waiting to see great things from him...

The movie was funny and the CSC folks are great...

I sent out my massive (all database- 900 person) happy holiday email.... and now I'm going to lay down and watch cartoons...

So, I went to the office to work on the schedule and do other work. My boss and I got confused and laughed over BAD math that the HR department set up to figure out holiday pay for our part-time CNA. ... all math math done by the government seems BAD and it often seems to affect or be duplicated in groups funded by them....

I'm BEHIND on a story I'm trying to write - so I tried to get some more written...

BURRITOS, BEER, & Cheer! - the Last Gasp Xmas party was fun... it was great seeing everyone, got some funny books, a scarf - a drunk woman tied around my neck, LG is art and decoration is so amusing, and again great to see everyone there....

We had our Xmas party for our clients... no drunk people (though a couple may of gone off to smoke medical MJ), the sexual inappropriate behavior (though one of my clients when taking my tarot cards to give me a joking reading ... mentioned a couple of fu-ed dating experience I had & told him about), and no one telling anyone else off (not in a serious way).

Just Boston Market food & juice, easy listening Xmas music, and one of our clients with his dog and accordion playing Christmas music for us, small- helpful gifts and chocolate for the clients, and me doing positive tarot card readings....

My clients all have AIDS so I made sure all the readings focused on the positive side. One client asked me when he was going to die ... I told him the cards say he showed ask that questions and focus on life and the good parts of it now... but must everyone else asked about their love life or money. ...

It is in my head - why can't I get it out...

I went to see 964 who played Christmas music for me; and then to see 903 who kept telling "I'm not drunk, stoned, or hung over... I just feel like crap."... hummm..

I finally started to work on a story I have been meaning to work on for the last month. I got the first 1000 words done. ... it was very hard to focus, which weird cause the story has been bouncing around my head for weeks now...

I had a couple of moments of o' jesus maybe you all are doing to many drugs or drinking...

So, I'm in a cab with one of my clients going to Project Open Hands and my client is talking to me about all the pain pills and upper (to help with sleepiness from the pain pills) his Dr. subscribes him... and he didn't know methadone wasn't crystal meth ... or at least he was getting the two confused...

I meant to do coffee with this sweet woman who I haven't seen in a few years. One of my last memories of her 7 years ago when she left SF was her getting completely drunk and started a fight with a bar in Murio's ... when we did coffee today she brought some wine in a small plastic bottle to pour in a cup in the cafe and drink.... I drank juice...

It is not that I all against drinking, but when I see or certain things it just make me think there may be a problem and worry....

So Raina came over to dye my hair and Polly came over to hang out ... we chatted a lot .... it was amazing how different people still have some many common experiences and things....

After the show I talked to the landlord at the studio spot about community events and played with his big cat.. then went to the Eagle... got lost and meet a nice person going there to help me find it (I have been there and walked by it a lot - it near my work, but still got lost)..

So, I helped at the Beer Bust benefiting the Center for Sex and Culture and BLOW (Beautiful Lips on Whistles) with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence... it was fun - sold raffle tickets, ate beer steamed hot dogs, heard great stories from the Sisters, and had gay guys jokingly flirt with me...

I shared a cab with Sister Kitty and we had Santa (a cab driver dressed like Santa) drive us... and funnier was Santa use to hang out at the Eagle when 'it was really a leather bar'... Santa is a leather daddy - of course....

So, tie you up and beat you folks pay well...

Friday:
Why do people think I know stuff and why are work parties always weird... I mean the food was great and they played a "Charlie Brown Christmas" ... still it wasn't comfortable...

Saturday:
I went to stage manage Rope Burn (a bondage show that Raina was in) and I taped down a few stage bits, got performers water, and answered a few questions from roughly 7PM - 12AM .... And got $100....

.. Which is so much better then the vibrators, underwear, art, fruits and veggies, t-shirts, and other weird stuff I have been paid in the past for working events...

..... I don't mean helping friends out that isn't an issues - especially for a good show or cause ... but I have gotten weird payments. small payments, or no payments from people I don't really know for doing tons of work...

... Though it is strange to stage manage an event where people are having sex and getting beaten...

I had a great talk with 765 about social network communicating and everyone called me with issues while I was with him.... he is on a new anti depression and made a joke & really laughed...

So, I hate the cold... it me want to stay inside and stay in bed... but I got myself out some to wash clothes, and do a few errands and xmas shopping and all... but mostly I was a home body today...

Finally 10PMish - I decide to go get a slice of cake - a few blocks away from home.... on my walk home...
... I saw three drunk Irish guys trying to help a guy dressed like he stepped out of a manger scene and his girl friend get their van unstuck from a fire hydrant, (not sure how it happened).....
... so guy with anger issue came to yell them for all being stupid after the Irish guys asked if he help them try to life or shake the van loose... I helped a bit and got it loose....
.... but the guy really seemed to want to start a fight and the drunk Irish guy almost oblige him... he called them drunk idiots and walked away...
.... I had to exclaim as anger guy went out of sight ... "Well, they may be drunk but at least their nice. And merry fucking Christmas."

So, I went she Harvey Rabbit and friend - band - Crack my Jaw perform at Care Takers (which was the 848 Space - where they use to do Perverts Put Out) and we had hot chocolate and sm-ore and listen to a funny and great acoustical combo. I loved the song about being crazy and the song about the 9 year old kid with the IPhone.

Then I walked a bunch on my route home and caught bit of conversations and SF night life.

Why does 511.org mention there will be a mother fucking major hill on my walk when they give me directions?

Does my client know he is crazy and has a drinking problem and not wanting to talk about it or does he not know?

Thursday:

Is my client drinking? Getting dementia? Or just strangely more talkative and happy now? which I gues is good.

11/26-27

Thursday:

I got up and worked some on my big website update/ clean-up project (lilycat.com) and talked to the family.... then went to work (yes, I went to my office on Thanksgiving) ... we got 200 Turkey sandwich meals meal from the Turkey Troupe (a non -profit start by a Top Chef person - Ryan Scott, who according to my boss is a very hot guy).. so we were going to give this out to our clients... but we didn't get things confirmed in time to get it off to our clients very well... so only 10ish people showed up... instead of the line of folks we excepted to be their when we opened up...

... After thinking about what to do with the rest of the meals ... we decided to take the food to the people ... we load up my boss' car and went to Civic Center (there were other people that came there to give food out too while we were there) and the park near the Portero Safeway .... and the best thing was we jumped on some Downtown and Mission buses and gave away food to the riders.... people loved that.

I later spent a lovely and yummy Thanksgiving dinner at Cameron and Terrance's ... great people, dogs doing tricks, fake fire on the TV, disco ball a spinning, and the tunes jamming... Got to caught up with some people and hear vampire, zombie, and real life ghost stories....

Friday:

I went to see 964, who played Xmas songs on the harp while I cleaned...
.... and then to help and visit with 968, he is a broke down queen in a broke down castle ... he lives in a nice condo in a bad neighborhood and is i cluttered with nice stuff that is getting dusty and faded (he has enough furs to be able to make a zoo). He was and still in some ways is a very refined - dapper man, but the illness he has .... well, it has definitely faded that...
He told me the loud moans, groans, and gasps of air he does on a regular bases aren't cause he is in tons of pain (which is what we all thought), but because he feels himself drifting off into unconsciousness (not drifting off to sleep, but more of a drift to coma or death) and the sounds are to snap himself out of it..... well, huh... being in pain might of been better...

I went to see "Capitalism, a love story", which was great - but sad and annoying info.... then I went to Murio's to talk with a Union Steel worker about what out of the country job ops he has, and whether a ton of money - is worth taking a job in a place we are still bombing and all...

Monday:

I was an extra in "Feed" - I went to be an extra in a party scene at 2PM and at 8PMish we started to shoot the scene and were done by 10:30PM..... which was okay cause filming - can often be like that.... and we were have a great little party while waiting to shoot and it wonderful to see a bunch of folks I hadn't seen in a while and some people I had not hung out with before...

O' and in the film their is a great line - that want me to have a long term meaningless relationship just so I can use it: "You were the one night stand that lasted a whole year."

Tuesday:

Today - I saw two clients and am try to caught up on stuff...

The radio show on FCC Free Radio with Vagabondage (which means - to take a trip with out a destination... a good motto for life) was wonderful. Cindy and John are so funny and the music was amazing - http://www.lilycat.com/radioshow112209.mp3

Had a funny conversation with a friend - she the only person who in telling one life story could use both the phrases - "I had a threesome with a porn star" and "Actually, I'm really a prude."
